Gins Farm Rally 8th & 9th September

Saturday dawned cloudy with light NNW wind which improved as the sun broke through.

By mid-day White Whisper had joined Halyards at the Gins Pontoon, closely followed by Dulchibella. We had passed Supernova on an overnight buoy and by 5pm, Moon-Shadow and John & Gabbie with Elisa & Tony on a their vistors Oyster had arrived.

6.00pm saw drinks and nibbles on White Whisper and at 7.15 we moved on the the RSYC clubhouse for a convivial meal, and the usual conversation and banter. We shared the evening with another rally organised by the Horseguards, who behaved impeccably, as did we.

We eventually returned to the boats and those with river moorings made a safe departure, while Halyards, and White Whisper joined Dulchibella for a snifter, and so to bed at 1.30am!

Sunday dawned fine albeit a little slow! for all and be ejected from the pontoon and moorings to allow lunch parties access to the clubhouse. The pontoon  contingent retired up river to Bucklers Hard where the piles were picked up and a relaxing afternoon was had.

3.30 saw a departure from the Beaulieu river and thence home.

A fine week-end, very relaxing and a pleasure.

Thank you for those who came, and also to Richard and Joy Beeson for coordinating the event.
