It’s almost over for 2009, but 2010 is just around the corner!

To find what fun we have had in 2009 just click on the titles above (see next paragraph if you have problems), but before the 2009 season closes we still have at least one more event and that is our South West Branch Annual General Meeting and Haul Out Supper.  This will again be held at the Battleborough Grange Hotel, which off the A38 and just a mile North off Exit 22 on the M5.  A formal call notice will sent out shortly but please put this in your diary - 23rd January 2010.

To read the Reports you will need a PDF Reader

You will see that we have slightly changed the way in which we publish the event reports on our web site.  We now publish these reports in what is known as PDF, which is a portable document format for any type of computer.  To read these reports you will need Adobe Reader, which is free from www.adobe.co.uk and if you do not have it all you do is to go to this site and click on “Get Adobe Reader”.  You will then be shown a box entitled “Download the latest version of Adobe Reader”, which has a ticked box to download a Google Tool Bar.  I usually “un-tick” this box as I prefer to set up my own tool bar options.  Once you have done this go to the bottom of the box and select “Download”.  You will be given a bar at the top of the page asking for permission to continue with the download, so agree to continue.  The process is then automatic.  Once you have download and installed this programme, each time you click on a link it will come up automatically.  Most of you will already have this application, so before loading it just try a link above and if it works you have Adobe Reader or similar.  We have made a similar change to the News Letters (Captain’s Briefing), although the current version is shown in full when you click on the box on the right of the web page.  However, we keep older versions as PDF files and the link for this is at the bottom of the page that contains the current Captain’s Briefing.  

Any ideas for 2010?

Your Branch Officers are now in the process of drawing up the programme for 2010, which will be a special year as it is the 25th Anniversary of the establishment of the MOA.  We in the South West Branch will be using one of our events to celebrate this milestone and we shall be notifying members of our proposals before the end of this year.  If members have any ideas or wishes on what they would like to see in the 2010 calendar, then please e-mail me as soon as possible.
